Happy St Patrick's Day: The Leprechaun

Written by

Being St. Patrick's day here's a little 'Green Day' trivia for you. Did you know the a leprechaun is an Irish fairy? Supposedly he resembles a small, old man approximately two feet tall and usually dressed like a shoemaker. He wears a cocked hat and a leather apron. And he isn't even a very friendly dude either, a leprechaun is known to be aloof and unfriendly, lives alone, and passes his time making shoes.

But a leprechaun's redeeming factor is that he seems to possess a hidden pot of gold. Treasure hunters like to track down a leprechaun by the sound of his shoemaker's hammer. If caught, he can be forced to reveal his treasure, but the captor must keep their eyes on him every second. If this odd looking little person isn't watched closely enough he can easily trick people into looking away and then he vanishes along with all hopes of finding the treasure!

So just like your goals they can be elusive at times, but you just need to constantly remain focused on them to ultimately achieve them. Just don't be tricked into thinking that anything else is worth more than your ultimate goal - your own pot of gold. It's just waiting to be discovered!

"Near a misty stream in Ireland in the hollow of a tree
Live mystical, magical leprechauns
who are clever as can be
With their pointed ears, and turned up toes and little coats of green
The leprechauns busily make their shoes and try hard not to be seen.
Only those who really believe have seen these little elves
And if we are all believers
We can surely see for ourselves." -An Irish Blessing

That being said find your own blessing for good health – moderate your drinking and eat healthy on this festive holiday.

Happy St. Patrick's Day.
