Labor Day - 2016

Written by

Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on this first Monday in September. It might even be said that it is the last hurrah of summer even though school for many kids has already started. What will you be doing?

The real significance of Labor Day is that it honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of the country. I think we can all relate to that! And of course it is also the Monday of the long weekend known as Labor Day Weekend and it is sadly considered the unofficial end of summer.

So enjoy this last hint of the summer holiday but don't get weary of the long lazy days with summer dieting either. Here are some core ideas to help you stay on track (save them for other tempting situations too):

• Always start with a "can do" attitude! Thinking negative never gives anyone positive results.
• Now think of exactly why you want to be successful with your diet plan. Dig into the deeper reasons other than a simple, "I want to lose weight."
• Take a moment to experience the heartfelt feelings behind your reasons for losing weight. According to Jim Rohn, "They provide the food for the mind and create light for understanding and awareness."

Henry Ford also has some wise words for a positive attitude: "Those who believe they can do something and those who believe they can't are both right." So keep your attitude right because in the end, it all seems to boil down to the choice you will make in determining how you will succeed, doesn't it?
