Alcohol Awareness Month 2014, pt. 2

The other day I discussed April as Alcohol Awareness and its specific relationship to weight management. Last year’s blog outlines other issues specifically related to weight management (and exactly how much alcohol is actually considered moderate). Beyond weight management issues and the few health concerns that were all discussed, there are even more serious ramifications that occur when drinking alcohol becomes chronic. In fact Researchers have linked alcohol consumption to more than 60 diseases. "Alcohol does all kinds of things in the body, and we're not fully aware of all its effects," says James C. Garbutt, MD, professor of psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and a researcher at the University's Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies.
