The holiday season is already full of too much stress and busyness. Don't add to all that it by getting a cold or the flu!
We've all been cautioned about washing our hands regularly and not touching our faces, but here are a few uncommon places those pesky germs may still be lurking:
  • Most women already do not allow their purse to touch a public bathroom floor. But as a reminder, E. coli can also spread from a simple flush nearby.  With that in mind consider wiping off your purse regularly with a disinfectant wipe.
  • Germs love to collect on phones, ipads, computer keypads asnd the like. Wipe those down too, especially when they are shared by others. There are wireless wipes available now so use them.
  • When you do laundry turn your pockets inside out and wash them that way. Many times things that you touch make their way into your pockets and you never know what germs collect there.  
  • Rings carry more germs than you think. Keep washing your hands regularly but consider cleaning your rings once a week in a mild solution of bleach and water.
  • And don't forget to wipe down your debit and credit cards when handled by a cashier with a cold. Those disinfectant wipes work well here too.

Lastly, in terms of food choices, when you are well it's much easier to folow a healthier eating plan but don't let a cold lure you into eating 'comfort foods'. Your cooked veggies with their antioxidants help fight germs the most as far as food goes. Processed carbs, sweets and even juices (pure sugar) work against you! Viruses and bacteria love those those kinds of things!
