Valentine's Day Without Chocolate?

What would Valentine's Day be without chocolate? And who even needs Valentine's day to enjoy chocolate? But for someone losing weight it can be disastrous if we eat too much of it.

Valentine's Day Recipes

Happy Valentine's Day! Are you ready?

It's just a few days away. Have you made your dinner plans for you and your special someone? Speaking for myself, I prefer to avoid the crowded restaurants seemingly bursting at the seams with this holiday's diners. I'd rather enjoy a quiet evening at home preparing a simple but special dinner of my own. As you consider your special menu for this Friday, take a moment to look over the many possibilities for your Valentine's Day dinner at www.calmwm.com or possibly get enticed by some of my favorites here. Save room for a little sweet something (listed at the end of this article).

Quitter's Week

Here we are past the middle of January. If you started your official "diet" for your New Year's Resolution around the 1st of the year you have successfully gotten through the traditional "Quitter's Week!" But dieter beware, it can still strike at any given time.

What happens is the reality of all the hard work involved to lose weight becomes real. The newness of the weight loss plan loses its luster. But don't allow that to happen. It you are really serious about losing your weight once and for all, all you need is to be persistent with your commitment. You need to remind yourself of those hard core reasons of exactly why you want to lose your weight. (Review last week's blog to strengthen your motivation.)

"Trying" should not even be a word allowed in your vocabulary when it comes to losing your weight."Trying" is not doing. "Trying" is a word made for an escape hatch. So put the emphasis on "action" and "doing" what it takes, regardless of the challenges. Success is connected to the specific actions, that doing part. Just keep going no matter what. Mistakes will happen, it's part of the process but that's how you learn.

Earn the special title to be one of the few who succeeded while others have long given up. Your dedication to your goals means you faced the challenges and it took patience to persevere. Those who failed were those who gave up easily or didn't even make the effort.

"Some people plant in the spring and leave in the summer. If you've signed up for the season, see it through. You don't have to stay forever, but at least stay until you see it through." - Jim Rohn

Keep Your New Year's Resolution

Every year millions start the infamous New Year's resolution to lose weight. Sadly though, it's frequently forgotten by early February (or sooner). So how do you keep that resolution really stick?

Comfort Foods To Boost Weight Loss

With the exception of New Years Eve celebrations we are nearly through with the temptations of holiday, festive dining. However, it is still winter and nourishing comfort foods will be on our menus for some time to come. They're called "comfort" foods for a reason - they bring back warm memories, tickle your taste buds, and soothe your soul. Though some comfort foods are deep-fried, covered in cheese, or packed with sugar, some can actually help you lose weight. Beat the battle of the bulge with some cozy selections.

Happy New Year - Happy New You!

Are you thinking of implementing a weight loss plan think this year?

As redundant as this may sound, dare to still think of it as the beginning of creating a new you on many levels. Think of it as the beginning of a year of discovery and excitement because you will uncover skills and strengths you never thought you even had when you finally follow through with this enormous goal. Weight loss as you might already know, is an endeavor which requires a magnitude of skills to conquer. I know because I did it myself.

One Last Hurrah

We are almost at the end of the year and you might be thinking, 'I'll just wait to the first of next week to get back on track with everything." Granted it would be human nature to think like this but before you party tonight, consider these questions:

Last Minute Food Gifts

The count down to Christmas is now nearly complete and there are still those last minute gifts that are needed to finish off your list but traffic is backed up, the stores are crazy busy, what can one do? Well, some of my favorite gifts to receive are hand made food type presents. Sure, chocolate truffles, nut brittles and such are a decadent delight. But some of the most satisfying are of the more nutritious variety. Some of those are what I will focus on for today as our shopping for the holidays is coming to a close. Simply put these suggestions in a Mason Jar, tie with a ribbon and a bow and you are all set to go!

Holiday Eating Excuses

It's one thing to indulge a little during this favorite time of year, but all too often it's about overdoing it almost every day throughout the holiday season and using mindless excuses to do so.
