The REAL Key to Success!

Written by
Did you know when you are trying to be successful with something your brain literally works against you? Why is this? And how can you change it?
Your brain doesn't care about your goals, it will literally work against you. As a result self-doubt and negative thinking can occur and sabotage your efforts. The ONLY way to overcome this is not to give into any form of negative thought. I always say, cancel, cancel, cancel to any negative thought! It’s absolutely essential to develop and maintain a strong belief in yourself, before any kind of success can be attained. This truly IS the biggest and most important key to success!
According to Lifehack the good news is there are ways to turn negative beliefs around:
1.This first point you have to think about, Lifehack states, "If you don’t believe in yourself, who else will?” If your goal is to lose weight once and for all, you need to convince yourself that you will succeed even if you've failed in the past. Unfortunately people around you have seen you fail so they might really doubt your efforts. This certainly does not create confidence. So without this inherent belief in yourself you cannot possibly succeed.
1. What to do? How do you change beliefs then? In order to change negative beliefs you have to catch yourself thinking negative thoughts and then immediately reframe them into positive statements that affirm a new positive belief (yes, even if you don't quite believe it!). Work on this and your beliefs will slowly change over time. (Ask your clinic for the handouts on Affirmations so you do them correctly.)
2. Now review your personal confidence level, it goes hand–in-hand with belief. If you lag with belief, your confidence is weak. So at the very first challenge you face you’ll fall on your face. To pump up both belief and confidence, again continually assert the real truth, that you can accomplish this goal. Develop this conviction in yourself at every opportunity you have, even if you are struggling. This confidence will develop deep within you and eventually overpower any negativity, the big sabotage to your victory.
 3. As you continue to go forward on attaining a goal means keeping a positive mindset and focus throughout the entire process, not just the beginning. The easiest way to fail is to remain negative in any way. You will never achieve your goals holding on to a pessimistic attitude. When your belief in yourself is air tight your attitude automatically is the correct one.
4. Be clear on exactly what you want. From the get go, your goal has to be defined (it has to be specific, like how many pounds do you want to lose, what plan will you follow, how long will it take you to lose it, what do you need to do to overcome any obstacle, etc.) If you are clear on all this you need to go forward with real action. This is now a matter of dedicated work on your part. This still requires you to believe in yourself
When you see success in any small way at all throughout the process affirm it, this increases both confidence and belief in yourself and assures you of success.
5. Keep your motivation. Once you see yourself gaining momentum you will become even more driven. You realize this goal is attainable so you keep pushing ahead to make it happen. But do realize even mistakes can move you forward? Don't see them as negative.
I’m sure you are familiar with Michael Jordan’s numerous failed attempts in basketball. In his wisdom he realized that losing games and missing shots were part of the process. He repeatedly states that these very failures made him finally successful in the long run. He learned from these mistakes and had the patience to persevere until he was successful. And he always asserted his belief in his abilities.
6. Always be on guard, watch for any form of excuse, because well, our brain just loves to rationalize bad behavior! Keep asserting your inner power and strength and negativity will keep fading away.
Pick out some affirmations that resonate for you and keep them in your head to draw on them when an obstacle arrives. And even if they should occur from time to time, the good news is, confidence pushes them out in a flash! As Willie Nelson states: "Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results!"
I’ll leave you with one additional quote by James Clear: "The biggest difference I've noticed between successful people and unsuccessful people isn't intelligence or opportunity or resources. It's the belief that they can make their goals happen." This could not be any clearer.
