Importance Of Routine

In addition to contributing to weight loss or healthy-weight maintenance, a regular exercise routine will help you deal with stress. Having a routine that you stick to will also ensure that regular physical activity - ideally 150 minutes per week - will become a part of your life, rather than a big deal that you have to think about and talk yourself into doing.

The easiest way to establish a routine is to schedule your exercise time along with all the other important matters of everyday life. Once you’ve tried out a few activities and know what works for you, put them on the calendar each week. If you know that at 5:30 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday you walk for 30 minutes, when you get home from work you’ll automatically put on your sneakers, grab your water bottle, and set off down the street.
